5 Reasons why drone🛸 videography on your wedding is a Game-Changer!
So, you’re thinking about drone footage for your wedding? Awesome idea! But you might be wondering: is it really worth it? Let me break it down for you.

1)
It creates smooth transitions and adds cinematic vibes
Drone shots give your wedding video a seamless, polished feel. Imagine starting with a beautiful aerial shot from your location – like in this video – you and your partner drive away in a classic car – like in this film trailer – before cutting to you and your partner getting ready. It makes everything look so much more cinematic.
2) You get a whole new perspective
A drone can capture moments you’d never see from the ground—like a stunning shot of you two walking hand in hand across a field, or an epic wide-angle view of your guests during the ceremony. It adds that wow factor.

3) Not just videos—photos too!
How cool would it be to have aerial shots of your venue, a top-down group photo of your guests, or a stunning golden hour moment with just the two of you?

4) Perfect for outdoor weddings
If you’re getting married at a beautiful outdoor location—a beach, a castle, a vineyard—drone footage can capture the whole setting in a way that ground cameras simply can’t.

5) An epic way to end your wedding film
Want a breathtaking final shot? Imagine a drone slowly rising as you and your partner drive away in a classic car, or a night shot of your guests holding sparklers. A perfect, movie-like ending.
But… are there any rules?
Yep, and quite a few! You can’t just fly a drone anywhere. A videographer needs the right certifications and has to follow strict regulations about where they can and can’t fly—especially near busy areas or airports. So before you book, make sure your venue allows drone use! I have my certificates:

What to ask when hiring a wedding videographer
Do they have drone experience? Not all videographers offer this service.
Check their portfolio – Make sure you love their style and their drone work. Apart from my wedding drone videography, this is a drone video from The Netherlands I made years ago. That shot where I fly with the geese in the air is still one of my all-time favourite. What do you think about it?
Ask about your venue – Some locations don’t allow drones, so double-check in advance.
Look for package deals – Some videographers offer discounted bundles with both traditional and drone footage.
So… should you go for it?
If you ask me? Yes! Drone footage adds that extra something that makes your wedding video even more magical. If your videographer knows what they’re doing and your venue allows it, I’d totally recommend it!.” Here’s a film trailer with some drone shots throughout the film:
