WHAT DOES A WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHER COST?

So, you’re wondering what a wedding videographer actually costs? Honestly, it’s one of those things that seems simple at first, but there’s a lot that goes into it. Therefore, let me break it down for you so you know what you’re paying for (and why it’s so worth it).

They Capture Everything Without Being in the Way

A good videographer isn’t just running around with a camera—they know how to be everywhere without actually being noticed. They’ll catch all the big moments, the little ones you didn’t even see, and do it all without being distracting. In fact, it’s a skill that takes years to perfect.

Experience Makes a Huge Difference

This one is important. An experienced videographer just knows where to be. They anticipate the key moments, position themselves perfectly, and make sure nothing is missed. They don’t just film – they tell a story. I explain this in more detail on this page.

The Gear is Insane

We’re talking cameras, stabilizers, drones, and professional Hollywood-level audio setups. That’s why these things are expensive. And yes, technically you could film a wedding with an iPhone, but trust me – there’s a huge difference between that and what a professional can create.

Editing takes forever (30+ hours, easily).

Filming the wedding is just step one. Then comes the real work—going through hours of footage, cutting it down to something cinematic, syncing the audio, fixing the colors, adding music, making sure everything flows perfectly. It’s a lot.

Taxes & Business Stuff Add Up → Not the most exciting part, but yes – a big portion of your costs goes to taxes, business licenses, insurance, and all the behind-the-scenes expenses of running a legitimate business.

It’s Not Just Filming—It’s All-in-One → A wedding videographer does it all. They film, edit, mix audio, work with music, adjust colors, and even fly drones (which actually requires certification – mine is shown below). On top of that, they take hours of raw footage and turn it into a 6-minute masterpiece that tells your love story.

Okay, But How Much Are We Talking?

It depends on their experience and what’s included, but a rough estimate of what I see in the industry – and here is my pricing page :

  • Newer videographers: €500 – €1.000
  • Mid-range professionals: €1.000 – €2,000
  • Top-tier, cinematic-level videographers: €2,000 – €5.000+

So… Is It Worth It?

One hundred percent, yes. Photos are wonderful, but there’s something about seeing the day itself – hearing the vows, watching the reactions, reliving all those little moments – that makes a video absolutely priceless.

If you’re on the fence about it, my advice? Find room in the budget. You’ll never regret having a wedding video, but you will regret not having one.
